high quality all-in-one amp/cd/tuner ? opinions please

Hi,
I'm after a one box stereo music system. No low-fi, micro, midi units. All I can think of is the likes of Linn or Audio Analogue. Need to replace 3 boxes with one. Ideally it would be just an amp and cd in one box but I guess a tuner gets thrown in. I've been away from the hi-fi scene for years and would appreciate pointers to quality units. Budget is around £750. My current system produces a clear warm analogue sound.

You might consider the Arcam Solo Min or the Primare DVDI-10 (the latter might be over your budget).

I would avoid any combination that includes a cd player because it is the most likely part to break down and most likely part you might want to replace because of technical advances. For example, my Linn Classik has been minus its cd player for some time despite an attempt at repairing it.

I've been very pleased with my Denon RCD-CX1, but the Arcam Solo Mini is likely closer to your budget.

I have an Arcam Solo Mini driving JM Labs 705s in my bedroom.I also run an eight inch Velodyne sub from it. Its only a smallish room and this setup really does a good job. NAD make a similar, cheaper unit but it is not nearly as good.
AlanM makes a good point, though. A seperate CD player has its advantages but it may blow your budget. Money is only ever a problem when you dont have enough!

go with the Peachtree, includes a DAC that make almost all CD players under $1K sound better plus allows you to connect you PC to it.
