Help With iTunes/Receiver Volume

-- Mon, 09/14/2009 - 13:54

Hi All,
I'm not quite sure this qualifies as heavy duty system building, so I apoligize for my silly question in advance.  What I'm trying to figure out is whether or not there is a standard method of setting up the volume of your sound source (iTunes in this case)  in relation to your volume setting on your receiver.  Should iTunes be all the way and then just use the receiver to control volume?  Anyway,  I hope I explained that well enough.  Thanks in advance to anyone who might have some advice.

Turn iTunes all the way up at the volume control setting switch in the upper right hand corner of the iTunes page. That will give you a pretty standard line level output. Adjust your system levels from your receiver as you would with any other line-level source.

Also, iTunes has a setting to standardize the volume between albums or songs.  That allows you to have the same volume setting for all songs without one being too low and the next blowing you out.

A good sense of humor makes it ALL sound better!
