I am the owner of a Sony G70 video projector. I love the picture it puts out and I've just put two new tubes in it about 2 years ago. It is and will be the main video display in my theater until it dies.
I want desperately to take advantage of the hd dvd formats. Neither the G70 nor the Faroudja Native Rate Scaler it's connected to have HDMI or DVI outputs or inputs. I have been trying to figure out what to do. Is it better to use the component out of an HD or Blu Ray player for the time being or not bother with it at all? I've heard that someone is making an HDMI card for older Sony CRT's. Would that be an option and if so, where can I get one and does it work? Help! I'm feeling left behind.

I can understand feeling left behind, but CRTs still make a darn good picture. The easiest solution is to use the component output from the HD DVD or Blu-ray player. This will give you 1080i to the projector (or, more precisely, the Faroudja scaler). I don't know about anyone making an HDMI card for older Sony projectors, so I can't help you there. But HD via component looks fine, so I would go that route.
