I would appreciate any feedback about the reliability of Halcro Amplifiers like the DM68, DM58 and, specifically, the DM38.
Halcro specifies hardy and durable components, which is comforting. However, Halcro amplifier technology also seems somewhat more complex and elaborate than usual.
I am sure the protection circuitry makes Halcro amplifiers run safer. However, does the complex design also mean that periodic maintenance and checks need to be performed?
Are there delicate circuit configurations that are more prone to failure than normal? Do you know of a Halcro DM38, DM58 or DM68 that failed and had to be repaired?
Are Halcro amps known to operate as reliably without breakdown as more common sturdy brands like McIntosh or Bryston?
Thanks for your kind feedback.
I know a DM68 (5 of them, actually) owner whose amp was damaged in shipping. But once repaired, has not had any problems using them in his home theater...
