Genesis Sub Issue

Hello,
I'm hoping someone here on this great site can help me resolve an issue with my Genesis APM 1 speakers.
Both speakers lost the 500W subwoofer amps over the past months. Genesis went bankrupt and left it's customers holding the bag.
Since no one could repair them, I picked up a Dayton tabletop sub amp to fool with. After connecting it to my 4 ohm right speaker I was pleased to get pretty good result.
The not-so-good part is the distortion I get when I crank it up to a live performance type setting.
The original speaker design used an accellerometer mounted on the woofer cone to correct overexcursion, simply put. Since I gave up this proprietory circuit, I'm hoping to achieve a reasonable volume and sound that I could live with.
I kept the other upper range speakers and tweeter circuit in tact as allowed by the control boards even though the amplifers are dead.
If anyone can give this music lover a clue on any of this, please do help. I'd certainly appreciate your input.

Hello,

I would try Danny Ritchie at GR resarch. He's designed quite a number of servo sub systems and may have a drop-in replacement that will work for you. His website is at http://www.gr-research.com/
