Focal JMLab Electra 1023Be - looking for integrated amp to suit

-- Thu, 07/09/2009 - 22:04

I have acquired a pair of the French made  Focal JMLab Electra 1023Be speakers and would like to build a hi-fi system.
I am keen to hear recommendations of integrated amps that are musical and can suit these speakers.
Several considerations are
1) the speakers use Beryllium tweeters which apparently can be quite bright and unforgiving
2) Minimal impedance - 3.5 Ohms, nominal impedance 8 Ohms
3)Range $2000 - $3000
Appreciate also hearing from anyone who has direct experience with these speakers.

Cheers

Do you mean 1027Be (the smaller of the 2 floorstanders in the Electra line)?

I have a pair of 907be Speakers (Special Anniversary - similar to smaller 1007bee)  and use SIM Moon I-3 Inergrated Amp. They complement each other well. Very quiet, clean sounding Amp. Neither of them hide or gloss over anything. If you want a great 2 channel system -  check them out & I think you will be pleased.
Good Luck!

I know this speaker but do not own them. I do own a discontiuned i-3. Great kit. It would work perfectly with the Focals. If you have money to blow then go McIntosh.
