First Separate Speaker

-- Thu, 06/11/2009 - 04:55

I know it's not an electronics topic...but my thinking is that the Klipschorn was the first separate-box loudspeaker (for home audio) in 1946-47. Is this correct ? Before this, speakers were built-in to consoles.

The AR-1 would later be the first *direct radiator* (for home use) in the mid-50's. Before the AR-1, separate DR's were huge.....

I think Lansing had horns before Klipsch but these were not sold with home use in mind.
