External USB DAC Cable Question...

 My Computer is about 12 feet from my receiver, should the external DAC be next to the receiver with a long USB cable going to the computer or next to the computer using long RCA cables going to the receiver or does it not matter either way?

 Long USB ... short RCA ;-)
