Anyone heard these? All I've heard is raves. Better than the Alexandria, better than the Genesis 1, better than Grande Utopia EM...and at a fraction of the price. The only downside I've heard is that the company is a boutique operation and as such subject to a greater degree of business gremlins than most. I'm not even sure what these things cost but I think the MM3 is $30K something.
I suppose that in this category the idea is to get a BIG sound in a big room with virtually unlimited dynamics and unrestricted bass. I've heard a couple of such systems but I've always felt that these also had idiosyncrasies in other areas I could not live with. But maybe as a "second" system for those musical occasions when nothing less will do.
It depends on who you listen to and whether you know their connections.
In this price range I urge you to audition the larger Rockport speakers. A while back Robert Harley wrote glowingly in his blog of his visit to Rockport Technologies in Maine and hearing the Arrakis. A visit to the coast of Maine at this time of year would be sublime. Do it!
You won't meet a more professional person in the industry nor a finer gentleman than Andy Payor of Rockport.
I have no affiliation other than knowing Andy and owning one of his turntables.
