I have heard this speaker twice in demo and both times the soundstage was very speaker-centric. I prefer a system that floats a soundstage independent of the speakers themselves. But in both demos, it was obvious where the sound source was located. Outside of that, they were fine. But to me, at that price range, it's a fatal flaw. Please note that both demos were performed in the same room and with the same electronics and front end. So, perhaps in a another room, and/or with another front end and/or electronics, things might have been different.
I've heard the Sapphire sound spectacular at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, with no trace of the "speaker-centric" character described. Also, a sales manager for a company that makes universally great electronics, and an industry veteran with great ears and high standards, recently purchased the Sapphires for his own system and is thrilled with the sound he gets from them. Set-up is everything.

Where they positioned properly?
