Do speakers lose resolution if left in cold environments?

I had a pair of speakers I hadn't listened to in years,and had no choice except to put them in the basement, which could drop to 45 degrees in winter.Can that cause the drivers to lose rigidity/resolution? They don't seem to have the same clarity I noticed before, and both transient "snap" and a midrange "suckout" (recessed might be a better word) seem evident. They were down there for a few years.
