With modern flat panel displays everyone seems in a rush to stick them on a wall.
The only reason to do this appears to be for aesthetics ?
I recall back in the early 90's, Joe Kane with his A Video Standard LD recommended having monitors away from the wall, with the distance determined by the height of the screen.
Using his formula of correct distance being 2.5 times picture height puts my 50" plasma about 1.5m into the room.
Has the physiology of watching TV changed with the advent of modern flat panel displays ?
Ha ha. If you think for a sec the wife will let that happen, go for it.
