Differences between CRT and LCD Calibration?

HDphiler -- Tue, 05/29/2007 - 11:27

I know that there are a lot of differences between the old CRT calibration discs and a LCD calibration disc, but what are they? :?:

I've heard that if you use the wrong one damage can occur, is this true? :?:

I've not heard either of these assertions. A properly calibrated picture is the same whether it's a CRT, LCD, plasma, or whatever. It is possible to damage a phosphor-based display (CRT or plasma) if the contrast is turned up too high, but if you adjust the contrast using any calibration disc, that should prevent any damage.
