David Sylvian

I just started listening to his music and have been very impressed with it. I was wondering if any of you listen to him? I don't know if this is the right genre to post this in, since he isn't really new rock or pop. It's more experimental and jazz than anything, but does have rock tones on some tracks. If you haven't listened to him, I would highly recommend that you check him out!  :)

David Sylvian is a very interesting musician who has gone through extensive personal and musical changes since his time as front man for a glam 70's group, Japan. He has had a testy relationship with both his brother and other band members, Mick Karn and Richard Barbieri (currently with progressive group Porcupine Tree). I'd recommend Rain Tree Crow, a reunion with members of Japan which ended in recriminations but some of his best music. He did tour briefly with Robert Fripp, which resulted in a live record and I was lucky enough to catch one of his shows, along with all the goths in Berkeley (I did not fit in).  If you like his work, you might want to check out Scot Walker, another true original.
