Danish amplifier question

zeliboba -- Wed, 11/28/2007 - 18:22

Several years ago The Absolute Sound magazine did a review on a $60,000 amplifier from Denmark. I think Harry Pearson did the review. Does anyone know the manufacturer and model of this amplifier?

Maybe Gryphon

I also believe it was a Gryphon, but don't recall the model number.

I think it was Gryphon Antileon. Stereo. It is not easy to find this extraordinary audio brand.

They've got a new monoblock tower design out. I've seen it at the local Nordost dealer, but it wasn't playing, so no comments. It looked expensive though :)

Dear Zeb,

The tower you are talking about is the new topmodel from The Gryphon. It's called the Colosseum.

And yes, it's exspensive. You can get it in a stereo edition or a mono edition. The stereoedition costs - here in Denmark - 32.000 EUR. And the monoblocks costs - for a pair - 64.000 EUR.

Best Regards,
Kenneth
