Does anyone have any experience with electronic cooling fans? I am building an entertainment center and would like to install fans to remove hot air since my AV equipment will be enclosed. I am concerned with electronic interference, etc. Any suggestions? All I can find are fans that run for CPU's.

Parasound makes what they call a "whisper quiet" fan. It has three fans in a housing that sits on top of the equipment drawing the heat up and out. I think it retails for about $200. Rotel also supposedly makes one that sells for about $400. What the differences are I don't know. How well they work I don't know. But hopefully, this may help. Good luck

You can purchase a 10" DC powerd fan from ACE or Lowes.   The unit is designed to operate on batteries or a dc wall wart. (12vdc).  With a converter with setable output voltages (radioshack) you can get the fan to barely move the air (VERY quietly at 4.5Vdc) ) or power it up to full RPM at 12vdc and several selection in between.  The fan is about $18.99  and the adjustable DC supply is about $15.00.  Works great for me
