I have decided that I should consider getting an AV receiver that can handle SD and HD HDMI input from my Tivo HD DVR and then output via iLink to my JVC DVHS 40000U deck. I just don't know if that will work, or if there are any receivers that can do this for me.
I hope to keep my DVR component connection to my Runco processor and use the HDMI jack for the JVC at the same time.
It seems that perhaps the Integra 7.6 or 10.5 would have the connections, and maybe a B&K and a Pioneer Elite, but I don't want to spend all that money only to find out that I can't route my signals the way I need to.
Does anyone know what would work or have a good alternative solution?
(I need to offload some of my old recordings to make room for new ones, and yes, I thought about getting more storage for the Tivo.)
Thanks for the help!
I don't know of any devices that will convert HDMI to i.Link. The whole point of HDMI (other than picture quality) is to prevent digital copies from being made, so I doubt that any reputable manufacturer would make such a device. I'll give it some thought and let you know if I come up with any other solutions.

Thanks Scott. I could use Component, but I would still have the same input issue for the deck and I wouldn't have the direct connection to my Runco processor, something I'd like to maintain. If the HDMI connection won't work, I will have to try Component or just get a much larger drive for my Tivo.
It's about time that I got a new receiver anyway, so if something like an Integra will solve this problem too, I'm game.
Thanks and best regards,
russell
