Hello,
I would like to connect my current integrated amp to the new one I am going to be buying.
The reason is that I would like to connect a pair of speakers to be the current amp in one room, and a second (better) pair of speakers to the new amp in a second room, thereby enabling me to control the volume of the 2 pairs of speakers independently. The new amp will be the main amp with all the source equipment connected to it. The only equipment connected to my current amp will be 1 set of speakers.
I am told that this can be done in multiple ways. Can you let me know how (i.e., the best way)? Thanks.
My friend, I would tell you to go back to the person who told you that you have many ways of achieving that feat of separeate room control and have him tell you exactly what to do.
I will only tell you you can do this only if you have a preamp out control in the amplifier you are planning to use as main amplifier and then the otehr one as a slave in a separate room.
So check out th manual of you amplifier and see if this can be done, then you will probably find the idea of how to run it.
Just need long RCA cables capable of reaching to the other room maybe though the attic or if they are contiguous rooms though the wall (small hole) and connect the slave in the next room to you other speakers there and bring the pizza, wine cheese and party on . . .
ohh make sure the cables you get are good enough to run the legth you nee and prefferably good shielding is a must especially if you're going trough attic etc.
Good luck;
I hope this helps;
God Bless!;
