I am in the process of setting up a complete HT setup for my living room and my considerations are
0. I am Mostly into Movies and sports
1. Room size is 12' x 14' (TV Viewing distance - 8')
2. Need/Want 52"-61" wide 1080p display ( <= $ 2K)
a. Samsung DLP HL-S5687W (getting online for $ 1670)
b. JVC ILA HD-56FN97 (getting at Costco for $ 1799, so don't need to worry about returns/malfunctions) )
c. JVC ILA HD-61FN97 (getting at Costco for $ 1999, so don't need to worry about returns/malfunctions) )
3. AV Receiver Plan to buy Onkyo TX-SR674 (Online $540)
4. Speakers Already got an Infinity TSS 1100 5.1 Ch. system
5. DVD Player Plan to buy Oppo DV-981HD ( $ 229)
6. Not a big Games fan, so won't use XBox etc
7. Happy with my laptop so don't need to connect to the TV
8. Will be getting Dish HD service so don't need cable-card
With the above parameters, which HDTV would you suggest out of the mentioned?
The product documentation leads me to believe that the Samsung does not support HDMI over HDCP where as the JVC does.
Please provide your comments about the above configuration and suggest some other alternatives if possible.
Thanks,
S
