Compare/Select a new receiver to buy

My price range $300-$450; looking at these: Denon AVR 590, Onkyo TXSR607, Onkyo TXSR507, Yamaha RXV465BL, Yamaha RXV565BL; just bought an LG Blu Ray DVD player; want to stream Netflix movies from my home PC to tv, view my photos and slideshows from my home PC to tv; listen to my music/CDs; currently have 5 speakers and sub woofer; may want to be able to add outdoor speakers in future. Would appreciate any advice on choice of a receiver. Thank you

My personal recommendation, based on experience with their RX-V620, is the Yamaha.  My Yamaha was a Stereophile recommended component based on its sound quality, if I remember right.  I've had no reason to doubt that assessment.  The sound (although without the ultimate in power rating) is amazing.  In fact, I had a Classe SP30 surround preamp and a Bryston 3B power amp before I got the Yamaha.  The Yamaha (at less than $400!) sounded as good as the high-ticket stuff.  The reason was that I use the Yamaha within its limitations - I don't ask for absurd volumes that the receiver can't produce, and I route the bass to the subwoofer.

You just can't go wrong with the cheap Yamaha receivers unless you need more power.  Happy shopping!

A good sense of humor makes it ALL sound better!
