Class D output impedance

Tom Martin -- Fri, 09/29/2006 - 11:47

In the TAS class D roundtable, Bruno Putzeys makes the point that well designed class D amps should have pretty consistently low output impedance with frequency. If you know of manufacturers or other sources who have published this data for any class D amp (and a few comparision linear amps), please post their links here.

ICEpower has the specs here:

it does not stay low though.

It seems I can't post a graph here but the output impedance of the MP150 is 20 milliohms at 1kHz and below, and slowly (6dB/oct) rises to 70 milliohms at 20kHz.

Bruno, I would love to try the Kharma, but the HK dealer is not importing the Kharma amps?!

I'll hear around and will get back to you (it's 10pm here now). I'm the guy with the soldering iron so I don't really follow the sales.

If the image you want to post is on a web site (yours or somewhere else) then you can use that on our Forum. To post it, click on "img" button on the right side under the subject field, then type in the address of the image (http:///yoursite.com/yourfolders/yourimage.jpg for example) then press the image tag once more to put a closing tag on it. On Windows, if you right-click on the image and choose "properties" then you can find out waht the address is. You can copy and paste that. See below.

Unfortunately we don't allow users to upload images to our site because of space issues.

It seems there's currently no HK dealer for Kharma, but this is expected to change soon.
