We have no experience with the models you mention. Some Chinese-made gear is very poor, but some is excellent. If done right, Chinese-made products can deliver high value.

I have seen Jolida amplifiers but not their disc players. One brand worth checking is Skyworth from Hong Kong, available online.

Some other interesting brands of CD players from China/Taiwan include:

Cayin (designed in Germany, built in China): www.cayin.com

Onix: www.av123.com

Usher Audio: www.usheraudio.com

Vincent Audio (designed in Germany, mostly built in China): www.vincent-tac.ed/

Two potentially useful sources of information on new manufacturers and products from China are the Chinese-language edition of The Absolute Sound (check out the ads), and the Taiwan Audio association web site (www.taiwanaudio.org.tw).

I recently heard the Cayin (in an all-Cayin setup using Aurum Cantus speakers)...superb sound quality in all respects...

I am also considering a chineese cd player but I live in Ireland and there are little to no places in Ireland where you can buy and listen to high end high fi. I am considering the cayin cd17a, shanling cdt80, original 2008 and the Jolida Music van. Can anyone recommend on as I am going on reviews at the moment and its a bit hit and miss.

Thanks,
Andrew
