CD Player choice

Wayne,
I have read your reviews of the Exposure 3010s and Moon CD1 CD Players, and was wondering if you were able to contrast them at all.
Thanks for your help.

Please keep in mind that the following thoughts are based on my recollections of the Exposure player, and that I never had the two in house at the same time and hence never made a head-to-head comparisson. That said, I would charcterize the 3010S as a somewhat more rhythmically incisive and precisely articualte player, and the Sim CD 1 as being warmer and a bit softer. Tonally, the Expsoure is more neutral, leading toward the lighter side, while the Sim leans toward the darker side. Both present impressive and open soundstages, and are quite involving. Also note that I reviewed and mainly listened to each with their matching integrated amplifiers, which did play a role in my evaluaion. If forced to pick just one I'd opt for the Exposure, but it's also a grand more in price. I hope this is useful, and thanks for reading. —Wayne Garcia
