bye bye ARC... welcome to the era of KRELL...arc is becoming classe

chartssss34 -- Sun, 10/24/2010 - 10:54

I have long been an ARC user... ARC 610t ARC ref 8 ARC ref2 ARC ref5...with my excellent and hard to part ways magico v3s...

sold all my arc gear and shrank my system to YG acoutics anat refII driven by excellent (nowhere near arc 610t performance though) krell FBI integrated amp with KRELL evo 505 cd player..with cast connection..

i was always looking at arc gear as if like a all time fav girl friend..and remember the good times..but then something terrible happened... in the hands of the financial kiddos ( am one).. the private equity guys did something terrible.. they have changed their distributor where i live... its not just another dealer...it was a dealer that was carrying arc brand for 17 years.... and why? cause the dealer doesnt carry sonus faber.... only financial wiz kids can come up with a clever idea like this..the dealer that carried arc for 17 years is also a succesful one..sold more than a dozen 610ts in the last 3 years..not to mention the countless ref3 and 5s... but hey..he is an audiophile and he doesnt carry brands that he doesnt think offers the sound he is looking for...therefore he doestn sell sonus faber..but arc known to be loyal turned out to be theupcoming classe!!! sold it self to a speaker manufacturer..magico yg krell are a few to name that the abolished dealer is carrying.. but guess not good enough for the wiz kids.. good luck to terry dorn.. !  i recommend terry dorn  to stick to the principals that made audio research what it is as a brand...not follow the carrot of bonuses presented by thefinancial wiz kids...

but all these developments opened  anew era for me.. KRELL EVO ONE amps... i have always liked them..heard them numerous times in different systems.. driving alexandrias.. magicos... ygs and if one day i said to myself.. if i ever think of selling my ref 610ts.. krell evo omne and two are the ones...not the soolutions.. not the balabos...not the lamms not the vtls...but the krell evos.. and my day has arrived.. i found a second hand evo one amps and got them immediately...i will use my current krell evo 222 pre with the evo 505 cd player driving the yg anat reference IIs...

i can wait for them to arrive... but cant be more excited.. any comments will be welcome regarding the pre and amp compatibility...new era..krell is the way for me..lets hope terry dorn and the gaag learns the true value of loyalty in the upcoming days....

If this is true, how about naming the dealer?  I sure haven't heard this!

Its their distributor in Turkey! that has been replaced by a new dealer after 17 years

The two lines are distributed separately in the USA, Sonus Faber by Sumiko and ARC by ARC.

Buisness is business. No mercy in todays economy.

Hi 34,
I have been an ARC guy as well for many years but just bought demo evo 402 and evo 202 (which is very close to the evo 2) and am really please with sound ! Nothing added, nothing subtracted, very pure, and no expensive tube replacements.  Im looking forward to the new evo blueray player with usb/spdif hi resolution playback available the first quarter of 2011.  All the best and happy llstening!

34,
Why did you sell your system? Seemed like a reference level dream system for most everyone.

What does this have to do with ARC/Sonus Faber?

We won't hold it against you for switching to Krell!
