Hi,
I have a 16.5 feet by 15.5 feet by 9 feet Home Theater Room. I listened to a wide aray of speakers and shortlisted 3 speakers.
1. B&W 802 Diamonds
2. Sonus Faber Cremona M
3. YG Acoustics - ANat Reference II Main Module (Low Bass supoplemented by a JL Audio F-113)
4. YG Acoutics - Carmel ( I havent listened to them as my dealer does not have them)
Which one of these speakers would you reccommend?
I have the Carmel on my 1-2 year shopping list but for your size room I would favor the 802 Diamonds. The 802 Diamonds project palpable images like nothing else I've heard.
I certainly thought the 802Ds were better than the Cremona Ms in terms of imaging and the 802Ds sure can play loud! The Cremona Ms sure win the beauty contest though!
Didn't get the chance to hear the YG line up.
I hate when people do this to folks who already have a short list but...I find the need to ask if you had the opportunity to check out the Wilson Sophia 3s and the Revel Studio 2s as well? They are in the same price range and personally I liked both of these better than the 802D MKIIs and the Cremona Ms (ended up buying the Studio 2s).
If you don't can't demo the Wilson Sophia 3 or the Revel Studio 2 then forget I said anything! You have a great short list and can't go wrong with any of your choices! I'm sure that with many repeated listening sessions with each of them, your choice will become clear to you. It took me 5 listening sessions (including in home demos with 2 of them) with each of my final 3 choices to know which one I liked best!
None of the delaers in Chicago carry the Reference line of the Revels so thay are out of question. The Cremona M's seems ot have a great soundstage over the 802 Diamonds. The 802 Diamonds are a bit forward than the Cremona M's. I like the sound of the Cremona M's but since my system is gonna be used for HT as well my fear is the Cremona M might be a tad slow for movies. Also my HT room dimensions changed a bit it is now 24 feet by 16.5 feet.
