Blu-Spec, SHM etc..

Not sure if this is in the right place as it is more to do with CDs themselves instead of players, but my queries stem from posts in the "best SACD player for $10k" (or so) thread.
I understand that SHM is a normal CD, done on "decent" quality plastic (I suppose the equivalent of 180gms virgin vinyl). Any comments on differences in sound quality ?
What is Blu-Spec ?
