At least it is starting to move.
The PS3 isn't giving them the Blu-ray sales they wanted.
Could you imagine what the sales would be like if the Wii played Blu-ray?

Now it's time for the manufacturer's to start making some players with all of the latest features on them and making players that we would actually want to own.
Right now it seems like everyone is just "settling" for which ever player they decide to get.

I believe most folks are waiting for a price drop in Blu Ray players back to the levels when they were battling with HD DVD.

Lets see what the prices are come the holiday season. Thats what I am waiting for. Or if they throw in some free movies like they used to.

Yeah, good point.

Doesn't quite seem them same when they are battling anyone anymore does it?

As manufacturers other than Sony bring players to market, competition will develop and prices will drop.

I didn't mind paying nearly $400 for my BDP-S350, but they won't achieve mass penetration at that price. The $200 level seems to be a threshold. The prices of movies needs to come down as well. The premium over DVD is huge.

I can already get this player for $379 locally. I figure by the holiday season maybe $349 since it looks like this could be the worse holiday season for merchants in recent memeory with things only getting worse.

Presidential election results could have big time effect on this. The real threat of big income tax increases could further depress sales.

My bro the the CPA says any tax law changes are known in his industry as "The Accountant and Tax Lawyer Full Employment Act of ___."

I have lobbyist looking out for me at my income level do you?
