Does anyone know of a blu-ray player (HDMI out for video) that offers high-end, high-quality analog stereo outputs for playing cd's? I've run across many blu-ray players/reviews, but there seems to be no detailed information (reviews/statements) on the audio quality of the stereo outputs of the units. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Ayre, Marantz, Denon, Arcam, Oppo, Cambridge Audio all have blu-ray players that meet your criteria ranging from $999 to $10k. I bought the Pioneer Elite BDP-09FD ($2200) before audiophile companies were making blu-ray players. Its CD playback is on par with my $2000 Marantz SA-15S2 SACD/CD player but the Pioneer requires you to change the audio output in the menu each time you switch from movies to CDs.
best bang for the buck is the oppo bdp 93 with uogadable dacs, by nuforce, and approved by Oppo.
2 versions @ $400.00 and $900.00 give you just what you seek. Consider the 95 though with really good dac in it.
