Beginner Considering the Sony STR-DG800

I have a very basic set-up and am looking to upgrade from a older Kenwood Receiver. I don't upgrade often, so I would like something that is a little future-proofed. I am in a smaller room with hardwood floors so pure power isn't that critical. Intended to be used for everything - TV, Movies, Games, Music... and I don't want to spend too much, but if there is something a little more than this that is well worth the price, I would appreciate the recommendation.
