I've gotten more than the normal number of complaints lately about user behavior on the forums. These seem to fall into three broad categories:
1. Some people are angry and post in ways that are unwelcoming and seem intentionally unhelpful
2. Some people post in a way that ignores the possibility of dialog or which subverts dialog
3. Some people are rude, impolite, disrepectful, vulgar etc.
Just to be clear, these sorts of behaviors are not congruent with the kind of community we'd like to build. I've banned and deleted the worst stuff that I know of. The community guidelines and user agreement spell out the do's and don'ts:

Since, in all likelihood, key offenders won't read this post, I've put it out there in the hope that the well behaved among us will read it and take advantage of the opportunity to tell us when someone goes over the line. Our moderator team is very small, so we need your help.
Thanks.
Now if we could only figure out a way to defeat the spammers.
I delete AT LEAST fifteen spam posts per day....
