Audio Research Reference 5 break in time

Guys any of you know how long does it take for the ARC REF 5 to fully break in? I have been reading in forums that the biggest change after fully broken in is in the bass end which is exactly what i am experiencing at the moment, bass that is crappy. Thanks. Jem

Although ARC says it should be around 600 hours, it was over 1000 for my Ref 5 to really sound wonderful and when it happens, you'll know it.
OMG.......thats 50pct of the tube lifetime? i have probably a silly question. if it takes 1000 hours to find out the full potential of an equipment, how do u choose to buy one? :D
REF5 is $12k, how much do the tubes cost? Small investment!
SO HAPPY. Its 615 hours now. Now i am a total believer that it takes patience to appreciate the full potential of the ARC.
