Anti-Skating and the VPI Super Scoutmaster Signature

I was wondering if others on this forum who have the VPI Super Scoutmaster Signature turntable with the JMW 9" tone arm are using the optional supplied anti-skating device?

My dealer, Brooks Burdan, who is no slouch when it come to setting up turntables, said that he did not recommend using it. I am happy with how the turntable and arm sound with my cartridge, a Lyra Helikon, however, out of curiousity, I am thinking of attaching the anti-skating devise to the arm just to see what it will do.

Before I take the counterweight off the arm to attach the device, then go through the balancing and set up process again, I was wondering what the experiences of others who have the same turntable and tone arm have had with this option.

I would defer to Brooks on this.
He's one of the best when it comes to analog set-ups.

Thanks, Jim.
