My impression from the Logitech site and this forum is that the Squeezebox Touch and Transporter can do 24/96k audio, but not higher. I see the MicroMega and Auraliti boxes that seem able to go to 176 and 192k, but they seem not to be on the market yet. Is there a Squeezebox-like product currently available that will do 176 and 192? In my view it doesn't have to be wireless.
No, not yet.
But I expect more 192/24 capabilities as more computers and DACs fully support USB 2.0 which can handle 192/24 files.
Currently only Apple's latest build of Snow Leopard 10.6.2 supports the full 2.0 codec. Windows 7 should support it soon.
In six months 96/24 will be the new 44.1/16 while 192/24 is the new 96/24 :)

No, but the Touch has 192 capability: Acc'd to the Beta Testers at the Slimdevices forum (a couple of whom are digital techncians of some type and have taken the device apart and tested all sorts or things "under the hood").In other words, if the proper software was written the Touch could do 192.
The M2Tech USB converter already supports 192, and Empirical Audio is converting it's products to do the same. I'm sure by a year from now there will be plenty of devices able to support 192, and we will be wondering where to source files from. You could hook a netbook or laptop to one of these devices and use existing music playback software to make a relatively convenient user interface.
The Linn "servers" will support 176 and 192, but I don't know if you can call them "Squeezebox like". They are somewhat analagous to a Transporter or the Auraliti device. They can be interfaced through a PC monitor or through an iPhone/iPod Touch app, which then functions as an on screen remote.
BTW, at the Linn forums users say the use the Slim Server software and a plug-in for the Linn device. They claim you can then send native 176 and 192 files to the LInn (without downsampling), while retaining the convenience of the Logitech software.
