AC LAY OUT AND THOUGHTS

oturan34 -- Mon, 05/11/2009 - 12:03

I have recently started building a new home theater and a listening room in my house.
As we all know the importance of the AC lay out and dedicated lines to our equipment, i have gone a little crazy and laid out a massive plan which i wanted to share...

first of all
I have taken 2 dedicated main lines straight from the electricity box of the house all the way up to my listening floor. 4x3   for the neutral and 4x3 for the live.. also 6x2.5 for the earthing..all these 3 comes into a seperate circuit brake box in the listening room.. from there with the same logic for every outlet / wall plate a dedicated line has been installed underneath the walls...the cable used for earthing is shielded in order to prevent RFI..
All the wall sockets are furutech golds.
what i tried to achieve is to seperate each components line to be for that component only...nothing else in the system or the house is on the dedicated line... it took me nearly 2 months to fully lay the plan but finally its coming to the end..

the circuit brakers used in the distribution panel of the room is AHP german made v style with large ceramic fuses on them..the main lines coming into 50amp brakers and then distributed to each components wall socket via 25amp seperate brakers again from the same make AHP...

as for the earthing 5 x 1.5 meter copper earthing sticks burried into the ground in a star sign shape...the shielded line is soldered to the sticks only to connect to the middle stick of the start shape which is where the earthing is taken to the listening room... the earthing line goes in the listening room on the 3rd floor of the house into a earthing distribution panel .... from that panel single dedicated earthing is provided to each wall sockets...

i use martin logan motifs on the surround system and even for their 9 volt adapters got the same treatment...

in short... my power amps ARC 610T s will get each a separate line with nothing on their dedicated lines...My ref8 cd player same nothing on its line..my JV projector... my soon to be replaced PH7 phono stage...even the SME turntable will get a dedicated line...

i have just gone to the painting stage therefore havent tested the results yet but i am sure initially the sound  will be harsh and terrible as time is required for the main lines to be burnt it...

no pain no gain...

i have also documented the whole process with my camera... I would love to post them here for those who might be interested...

My be i will send Jon the pics and if they want to they can use it on the web site...

open to hear your further suggestions if i am missing any points in this ultimate project i have been dealing with...
