Anybody have experience with this player? I can get one very cheaply to use with a second system and remember hear and reading good things about the 308 family from Musical Fidelity.

Anybody have experience with this cd player? I can get one very cheaply to use with a second system and can remember hearing and reading complimentary things about the Musical Fidelity 308 family of products.
I had the whole A308 rig pre /power and cd. The whole system was very good value and reliable. The preamp was the standout performer but the other two are good too. The CD player is a good solid performer and would still sound good up against similar priced units today.
Now I have a Meridian G08. Its a whole lot better with more air and detail. However the A308CD is pretty darn good and if you can get a cheapy I say 'go for it!'

The A308 preamp and power amplifier sounded great and represented an excellent value.
