3G iPhone Announced

Tom Martin -- Tue, 06/10/2008 - 10:58

I see that the new 3G iPhone will be $199 for the 8 gig model (though data is now $30 instead of $20), which seems good. I see that internet browsing will be 2.8X faster, which is very good. I see that GPS will be enabled, which is very good (assuming that apps like navigation will appear).

What else needs to be changed to make this the best smartphone/portable media device?

A better camera would help. First, a bit of zoom would go a long way. Second some simple exposure compensation.

I should add: the iPhone should work with Flash-based sites.

"United Airlines said Monday that it's the first U.S. carrier to offer iPod and iPhone connectivity to its in-flight entertainment system, enabling passengers to enjoy their individual content on a 15.4-inch personal television, all while the iPod or iPhone charges."

Now I wonder if they will enable Internet connectivity

Most other PDA phones will capture video. While the iPhone will play video, it's camera will not shoot video, and that is something that needs to be changed.
