2 HDMI out, 1 HDMI in!

Hi, I have a cable box with a DVI/HDMI connection currently running to my TV (Sony FD 34XP955). I just ordered an Oppo DV981HD DVD player which also has HDMI outputs. My TV only has one HDMI input. The OPPO only supports HDMI cables (if I'm understanding it correctly). Obviously, I'll be hooking up the player to the TV via an HDMI cable. I should've asked this question before buying but...if you only have one HDMI input and you have to choose between a cable box OR your DVD player, which would be preferable?

Why not just buy a HDMI switch box? :?

You have the same problem that I had.
My HDTV only had 1 HDMI input and I now have several HDMI sources.
Cable HD Settop, HD-DVD Player, PS3 and Apple TV!

You can use both of your HDMI source by using a 3x1 HDMI switch. This allows you to easily switch back and forth between the 2 without having to plug and unplug the cable.

If you need more than 3 HDMI source, then you can try the 5x1 HDMI switch.

There are several other different versions, some with 5 ports, 4 ports.
