found in inexpensive television sets in place of a comb filter; separates the
brightness and color portions from a composite-video
signal.
NTSC (National Television System Committee)
The body that set the American color TV standard in 1953. NTSC has become a descriptive
name for television and video signals that conform to this standard. Jokingly
referred to as “Never Twice the Same Color.”
