Consumer Electronics Playground

Whether you're dreaming about being the first on your block to own a high-def disc player, weighing the merits of flat-panel versus rear-projection HDTV, looking for the perfect wireless music system, or hunting down the world's smallest do-everything gadget (will it be a cellphone?), CES is the place to keep an eye on.

This year's Vegas extravaganza, which marks the shows 40th anniversary, promises to be among the biggest and most exciting ever with 2700 exhibitors demonstrating the coolest electronics products and entertainment services that will be heading your way in the coming days, weeks, and months. We'll bring you 100+ CES show reports plus photos and videos from the best demos and announcements.

In addition to bringing you the latest news from dozens of scheduled press events, our roving reporters will comb the show's mind-boggling 1.6 million square feet of exhibit space (equivalent to 35 football fields!) in search of the electronics gems that will make the biggest splash in the world of home and personal entertainment/electronics. Plus, we'll have a crew of editors combing the high-end audio exhibits - which wouldn't be complete without some insanely priced, over-the-top systems featuring cutting-edge technology.

What will we be looking for? In a word, innovative products and technologies that point the way toward the future. We expect there will be plenty of news in every category. So much so that, starting Monday, we encourage you to check the site for daily updates.

For 40 years CES has been the launch pad for the dozens of important technologies that have changed the way we entertain ourselves at home and on the go. This year will be no exception, so stay tuned.
