The big news today came from LG, which proposed an end to the format war with its dual-format, high-definition disc player. Though it may not be the savior peace lovers hope it will be - it definitely favors one technology over the other - it opens up a whole new prospect for peace.

We also loved some of the new wireless toys, like earphones from Kleer that sent CD-quality audio from an iPod over a radio link, which they claim uses much less energy than Bluetooth.

And in the world of world records, Sharp showed not just one, but two 108-inch LCD panels with 1920X1080 resolution. If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it. But Sharp does offer a sweet 32-incher with the same 1080p res for just $1700. Size, shmize.
