RMAF - It's (almost) here

Posted by: Mr Plus at 6:06 pm, October 1st, 2009

The sixth annual Rocky Mountain Audio Fest opens tomorrow. Hundreds of high-end audio exhibitors – from Abbingdon Music Research to ZYX – are putting the finishing touches on their rooms for tomorrow’s midday show start. The buzz has already started at the Marriott Denver Tech Center, inside… and out!

I am sitting here at the local airport for my flight.  I hope to be there by the noon opening time.  It should be a great show.

It was a good show all in all. My awards
Best Booth Babes - JH Audio in the CanJam area. If you didn't get over there, you missed them.
Honorable Mention - while not an actual exhibitor, the THE Show rep was top of class.
For a trade type show, it was lacking the usual hotties. Ah well, perhaps it is for the best.

It was a good show, as usual.  I have more fun at RMAF than any other audio show.
Speaking of "booth babes", RMAF's never really had them, because it's not a real "trade" show.  At something like CEDIA Expo, the babes are used to attract the attention of dealers, because those dealers usually have their own agenda & business to attend to, and lots of people trying to sell them stuff they don't want.  They don't want to visit every booth, and don't have enough time to do so if they wanted to.
RMAF attendees, regardless of their line of work, are much more likely to be there because they want to see (and hear!) everything, babes or no.  Business also gets done, but it's not nearly as "in your face".  Unless RMAF attendees become bored and jaded, we'll have to accept the trade-off of a fun and friendly show for a few "booth babes."  Works for me.
