The Denver Vintage Voltage Show
Anachrophile Heaven
Denver’s Vintage Voltage show had something for nearly anyone who ever lusted after a piece of stereo gear or musical ephemera. In its third year, with over 80 tables of records, audio components, pro audio gear, guitars, and parts of all descriptions, Vintage Voltage is like a giant Canal Street radio store reborn. This April 29th event gives the words “Spring Cleaning” new meaning.
Even I found something I couldn’t resist bringing home – an immaculate stock circuit 1973 Dynakit Stereo-70 with brand new tubes, resistors, and capacitors. It also had the original building instructions with each step checked off in pencil. Nice. I was also sorely tempted by at least a half-dozen other items, including a black-face Audio Research LS-9, and a Teisco guitar amp with four 6" drivers, but I was “good.”
Since a picture is worth 1000 words (could I come up with an older cliché?) here’s 24 of ‘em to give you a feeling for the event.

Don'tcha wish you'd been there?
Indeed, I do :(
Did you you buy the Beatles MoFi box ? :)
Hello Zeb,
The Beatles box had an asking price of $900, not $190 (that's some sort of stock #).
I used to own that box set , but sold it several years back when it got over $450...
I KNOW this is heresy, but when it got that pricy I decided that I didn't like the Beatles THAT much.
Anyway I already had/have the same material on LPs and CDs.

Thanks for posting this, Steve. And you took pictures before the masses arrived, otherwise all the equipment would have been blocked! What a crowd, but overall, a very successful event.
It means a lot when a professional journalist in the trade does a report. I believe there really was "something for everybody" at the show.
Hello Peter,
It's true that I took most of these shots before the 10:00 AM opening, during the 9:00 to 10:00 "early bird" period.
There were certainly many buying opportunities for show-goers. My own purchases were limited only my own fiscal restrictions...

I built a stereo 70 kit back in the late 1970s starting at 6pm one evening and finishing at 6am the following morning. It was some poweramp but made too much heat to have in So. Florida. It was a great sounding piece of equipment matched with a Pax 3x. I had it hooked up to Marantz Imperial 6 speakers.
This event you went to looks like a museum and a walk thru time,LOL.....
