According to The New York Times, the House of Representatives rejected the proposal to delay the DTV transition by nearly four months, which the Senate unanimously approved just days ago. The Feb. 17 DTV switchover will remain.
The report quotes Joe Barton of Texas, the top Republican on the House Commerce Committee, as saying that “In my opinion, we could do nothing worse than to delay this transition date. The bill is a solution looking for a problem that exists mostly in the mind of the Obama administration.”
