Spendor Unveils News Flagship Loudspeaker

According to a company press release, English hi-fi manufacturer Spendor Audio is introducing the ST (Statement), its flagship 2.5-way loudspeaker.

The release continues by saying that for the ST Spendor developed a new 180 mm (7”) Kevlar composite bass driver, a 180 mm polymer cone mid-bass driver, and a wide-surround 29 mm tweeter with a bi-elliptical acoustic front plate. The ST features high-quality electrical components throughout, 630V capacitors, and WBT Next-Gen terminals. The company claims the phase-aligned configuration achieves exceptional clarity, focus, purity, and dynamics.

The release adds that like Spendor’s S Series speakers, the ST incorporates a linear flow reflex port that allows the speakers to be placed close to a wall with minimal adverse sonic effects. The cabinet is available in a piano black lacquer finish with exotic ebony, zebrano, or aluminum fascia inlays.

For less than 1/3 of the price, I would buy the Epos M22 i's  and get as good or better performance

or for the same price you could get a real speaker, like the Klein und Hummel 0410

Yes, let us know whether you've heard the ST.  As there are almost no review of this speaker anywhere on the Web you should only comment based on a real test.  well?

I feel that given excellant NATURAL Musical sound of Spendor's past speakers, the ST should be given a serious listen before people throw off on it. magic_rat2000 [at] yahoo [dot] com
