Sharp Introduces LCD TVs with Built-in Blu-ray Players

At CES, Sharp is claiming this is a world’s first—and they may be right. The company unveiled its AQUOS HDTV BD Series—five models of HDTVs that have a Blu-ray player built-in. How’s that for home theater convenience!

Sizes range from 32 inches at the small end to a 52-incher at the top. Sharp says all five models will ship with a swivel stand and offer wide viewing angles of 176 degrees. Each will have a multi-slot for playing Blu-ray discs, DVDs, and CDs.

Pricing is not yet available, but look for the models to begin shipping in February.
