Samsung Introduces Next-Gen Blu-ray Players

According to a company press release, Samsung is introducing two new Blu-ray players, the BD-P3600, which the release calls the “the enthusiast’s choice,” and the BD-P4600 a slim wall-mountable player with a unique modern style.

The release continues by saying that the BD-P3600’s traditional box form is just over two inches tall; the BD-P4600’s curved enclosure is 1.5 inches thick and can be either mounted on a wall or placed on a table using the player’s integrated stand. Both players can be connected to the Internet via an Ethernet connection or via 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi dongles that connect to the players’s USB ports. Once connected, the BD-P3600 and BD-P4600 can stream content from Netflix and/or Pandora (subscriptions are required).

The release says that both players provide DVD upscaling, CD playback, and support BD Live (profile 2.0) and Bonus View. The players decode the latest audio codecs and support viewing of DivX videos and JPEG photos. Both players have 1GB of internal flash memory and feature touch sensitive user interfaces.
