Proton Introduces Premier LCD

According to a company press release, Proton, manufacturer of high-quality TVs for over 30 years, is introducing the Proton Premier PS-47DFA, a premium, 47-inch LCD HDTV. 

The release says that the PS-47DFA features a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit video processing technology, which can output more than 1 billion colors, or roughly 64 times more than what conventional 8-bit processing can provide. Additionally, the set incorporates Puriti video enhancement, a built-in artificial intelligence system that, according to Proton, “analyzes color frequencies and intensity” and compensates for picture detail lost due to poor contrast. The technology is said to provide more natural skin tones and deeper black levels. The set delivers viewing angles of 176-degress and features 3D de-interlacing and Edge Enhancement to eliminate jagged edges from interlaced video formats.
