Paradigm SHIFT Universal Bluetooth Receiver Streams Music from Mobile Devices: CES 2012

Las Vegas, NV – International CES 2011 – January 10-13 – Venetian 30-336 – Paradigm Electronics Inc., an international leader in speaker design and manufacturing, continues to expand its popular Paradigm SHIFT™ line of audio products and accessories with the Paradigm SHIFT BD 1 universal Bluetooth receiver. The BD 1 allows you to stream music from any Bluetooth-enabled device supporting Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) or Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP), including the iPhone™, Android™ and Blackberry™ phones and other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as laptops and tablet PCs.

The Paradigm SHIFT BD 1 package includes a BD 1 Bluetooth Receiver, a built-in 250mAH Li-polymer rechargeable battery, an audio cable, and an AC adaptor (or, for international customers, a USB power cable that will work with a USB AC power converter, sold separately). Installation is a snap: simply connect the BD 1 to a power outlet (and not that we’re partial or anything, but the auxiliary power outlet on the back of the Paradigm SHIFT A2 powered bookshelf speaker is a perfectly convenient location), plug the 3.5mm audio cable into your powered speakers or portable sound system, sync the Bluetooth receiver, and you’re done. After initial setup, your synced device and the BD 1 will remember each other in the future.

And while the BD1 truly is a universal adapter, perfectly suited for use with any powered speaker or music system with 3.5mm inputs, it was designed specifically to complement the new Paradigm SHIFT™ A2 powered speaker. In case you missed it, the A2 is a powered bookshelf speaker designed for use with portable media players, smart phones, musical instruments, and so much more. Combine a pair of A2s with the BD 1 and you’ve got the makings of a perfectly portable, hi-fidelity music system for streaming Spotify or MP3s from your own collection, without ever having to pull your phone out of your pocket.
