According to a press release, Paradigm is introducing the fifth generation of its popular Reference Studio Series of loudspeakers, featuring a redesigned aesthetic and technological advancements.
The release continues by saying that new v.5 series features curved enclosures that provide a modern, elegant look while alleviating internal sound reflections and edge diffractions that are characteristic of rectangular cabinets. Paradigm also used high-tech Permacote Linacoustic damping material to further decrease internal cabinet resonances. The speakers are treated with seven coats of lacquer and are hand-sanded between each coat. Paradigm also outfitted the speakers with newly redesigned, bullet-shaped outrigger feet (with optional spikes).
The release says that the v.5 Reference Studios feature advanced Santoprene rubber suspensions with an elliptical shape, which allow the speakers to achieve an even lower level of distortion than before.
The release notes that Paradigm has added a new compact bookshelf speaker to the line, the Studio 10. Besides being the smallest bookshelf speaker in the series, the Studio 10 features an elliptical-shaped port to provide deep and articulate bass. Also new to the series are the SUB 12 and SUB 15 subwoofers, both of which feature 2,550 watts dynamic peak power (850 watts RMS) and Paradigm’s DSP optimization and control.
