Monitor Audio Introduces Stylish, Affordable Compact Speaker Line

According to a press release, British hi-fi manufacturer Monitor Audio is introducing the new Vector series line of compact home theater speakers that promises to deliver “upscale performance with boutique looks at affordable prices.” The line comprises three new models: the V10 satellite speaker, the V20 center channel speaker, and the VW-8 subwoofer.

The release continues by saying that the line is inspired by the technologies and aesthetics of Monitor Audio’s award-winning Radius line. The V10 ($225/pair) features a 4” driver, a 1” gold dome tweeter, and a rear port. The V20 ($149 each) features the same speaker complement as the V10 but it has a front port, which extends bass response and enables it to be wall-mounted. Both speakers are magnetically shielded. The V10 and V20’s enclosures are made of high-density molded polymer and their front baffles are made of MDF (medium-density fiberboard) and are finished in high-gloss black or white.

The release says that the VW-8 subwoofer ($399 each) features a 100-watt class A-B amplifier and an 8” forward firing woofer. It features an auto signal sensor that turns the amplifier on when it detects a signal or turns it off when no signal is detected. The VW-8 also features variable volume control, variable crossover/frequency control from 45Hz–150Hz, and switchable phase control from 0–180 degrees.
